Sweatlodges
Andy and his partner Laurel Bay Tree offer Sweatlodge ceremonies to public and private groups, mixed as well as for Women- or Men-only. We are happy to discuss pouring a lodge for your retreats and other events.
The Sweatlodge is an opportunity to participate and pray in the traditional way of the Lakota people.
In this ancient ritual of purification, we enter a dome structure, and heated stones are brought in over 4 rounds. We work with Water, sacred plants, essences and resins, and with chants and prayers in the Lakota style. Andy and Laurel are both Vision Questers who have poured these lodges for more that 15 years, and received the blessing of an indigenous Chief and Elder who carries the medicine bundle of both the Lakota and Peruvian ways to carry out this sacred work
Returning to the greatest Mother… her womb …gathering her bones …the stone people… the grandmothers and grandfathers, our ancestors.
We honor, with deep gratitude we gather in a circle with our prayers, chants and offerings as we dream in our Hearts deepest desires.
With respect we enter her body... a time to purify, release and cleanse. We open to receive…love and nurturing, surrendering to embrace of our Mother.
We seek guidance through sweating, prayer, chants and songs.
Aligning and evolving from the tradition that the lodge is the womb of mother, this lodge is interwoven from the mysteries. Connecting to spirit we sit and listen, connecting to Earth we receive guidance and wisdom of the ancient ones.
We emerge rebirthed- walking our dreams and prayers into our lives.
And, as is part of this tradition we cater an abundant feast to celebrate our puritfication
Out of respect to these ancient ways, the Lodge can only be photographed without her coverings of canvas and blankets.
